Camp 3C is a camp for girls and boys who have completed 1st through 6th grade. It is designed to help kids learn about Jesus, develop Christ-like character, and examine ways to join Jesus in the Great Commission.
OUR HISTORY
Camp 3C began as a Royal Ambassadors camp in 1947 when several RA groups from local churches came to Blanco Canyon to camp out and have fun. As the years progressed, Royal Ambassadors Camp continued to grow and build on the experience of men who had attended and planned the camp for many years. In 1980, they adopted a rotating leadership style of management and since has continued to be fresh and innovative. It was about this time that the camp became the pilot camp for all Royal Ambassadors camps in Texas. Upon the completion of our 2011 camp, camp planning leadership voted to move from a strictly Royal Ambassadors camp to a camp that included boys from all churches and ministries to better reach out to churches and offer new resources to those without dedicated boys' programs. In 2013 we launched the brand name Camp 3C. We extended our service area to better meet a need for modern children's ministries and to provide a place where boys and young men can be just that.
In 2023, Camp 3C expanded to involve Girls in Action (GAs). By offering a dual camp, resources and volunteers are better able to impact the lives of both boys & girls.
LOCATION
Camp 3C is conducted at Plains Baptist Assembly (PBA), located in historic Blanco Canyon eight miles south of Floydada, TX. Camp 3C is accessible to a wide area including the Texas Panhandle, South Plains, Permian Basin, and Eastern New Mexico. Lodging is provided in air conditioned cabins. All campers are provided bunk beds, clean toilet facilities, and showers with plenty of hot water. PBA has a newly renovated dining hall, beautiful conference and worship facilities, a large swimming pool, challenging ropes course, zip line, rifle and archery ranges, a paint ball course, and human foosball and dodge ball courts. PBA has a large, beautiful campus with great views, as well as 320 acres of undeveloped canyon land for hiking, primitive camping, and adventure. PBA also has a lake and waterfront area that includes opportunities for canoeing, paddleboats, a blob, and other exciting water activities.
